
OMINA Foundation took part in the United Nations Global Compact event Making Global Goals, Local Business, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

OMINA CEO and founder Andrea Somma took part in the United Nations Global Compact event Making Global Goals, Local Business, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Over two days the event brought together leaders from public and private organizations to talk about collective action and the impact of the 10 Principles and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
During the second day of the event, Ms. Somma was part of the panel Supply Chain Sustainability – The Fashion Case, in which topics such as fashion being one of the most polluting industries in the world; labor conditions in the industry; fashion as an economic driver; and the general challenges and risks of the industry were discussed in detail together with sustainability representatives from all over the world.
The panel was moderated by Mr. Miguel Angel Gardetti, Director of the Center for Sustainable Textile, Argentina, and Ms. Somma’s fellow panelists were, Ms. Sol Caballero, Commercial Director of Manufactura de Pilar S.A., Paraguay; Ms. Candela B. Arias, Manager of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, Argentina; Ms. Karen Newman, Senior Consultant, United Nations Development Program and United Nations Development Group; and Ms. María Lourdes Delgado Luque, Researcher at Universidad CEU, Spain.
